He is best known as the founder and CEO of the global technology corporation “Amazon“. Bezos was still driving a Honda Accord in 2013, according to the book “The Everything Store.” Bezos does, however, own a Gulfstream G650ER private jet worth $65 million.

A video of CBS’s Bob Simon interviewing Jeff Bezos about his cars for “60 Minutes” in 1999 has recently resurfaced. Bezos was wearing khakis and a button-down shirt while driving the Accord in the video. “What’s up with the Honda?” says the narrator. During the interview, Simon asks Bezos a question.

“This is a perfectly good car,” Bezos responds with a chuckle.

He explains to Simon, “It’s a sign of saving money on items that matter to consumers and not spending money on things that don’t.”

Notice that, according to The New York Times, Jeff Bezos owned nearly $10 billion in Amazon stock at the time.
