Don jazzy: Michel Collins Ajereh (born November 26, 1982) is a Nigerian music producer, performer, songwriter, and businessman who goes by the name Don Jazzy. He is the creator of the now-defunct Mo-Hits record label, which featured Da’banj, Wande Coal, Da Prince, and many more on the label.

He was the co-founder of the now-defunct record label Mo “Hits Records” in 2004. After the closure of the label, Don Jazzy set up Mavin Records on May 8, 2012.

Don Jazzy’s real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, and he was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He was raised in Ajegunle by his parents. Jazzy graduated from Federal Government College, Lagos, and later, he enrolled in business management at Ambrose Alli University, Edo state.

The year 2008 was the first time Ajereh was credited with the making of The Entertainer by D’Banj. Ajereh also participated in the making of the album by Wande Coal, Mushin 2 MoHits, an album that was hailed as being among the best albums ever to originate from Nigeria.

While Ajereh didn’t take credit as a vocalist, he did perform background vocals for the artists he recorded.

The performances include vocals by D’Banj, Sauce Kid, Dr. SID, Ikechukwu, Kween, D’Prince, and Jay-Z. Ajereh sang Kanye West’s hit song “Lift Off,” featuring Beyonce, from the Watch The Throne album.

Kanye West hired Ajereh to work as a producer for Very Good Beatz in 2011. Ajereh collaborated alongside Jay-Z and Kanye West in the making of Lift Off, featuring Beyonce on the album Watch The Throne, which was released on August 8, 2011.

Then, in March of 2012, Don Jazzy and D’Banj quit their collaboration, citing their differences in art.

On May 7th, 2012, Ajereh announced the launch of a new record label, Mavin Records. Ajereh declared, “I see Mavin Records being the most powerful source for music in Africa in the fastest time possible.”

He released his debut album in the month of May 2012. He dropped an album that featured artists who are signed under his labels. The tracks on the album include Amarachi, Forever, Oma Ga, Take Banana and Chocolate, YOLO, and the popular song “I’m a MAVIN.”

Mavin record label signed singer, Tiwa Savage. Ajereh created a social media platform dubbed “Marvin League” to help market and enhance his label.
