The Whitaker Inbred Family Tree: Everything you need to know
The Whitakers are known as the most inbred family in the United States since every member is related. However, fresh documents have revealed that their parents were cousins rather than brother and sister, as previously thought.
Because the Whitakers are genetically and biologically related to one another, no one has been able to piece together their family history.
Furthermore, the Whitakers family is secretive about their family history and is protected by the community where they live, which has made it difficult for anybody to contact them.
The Whitaker family attracted worldwide attention as a result of Mark Laita’s documentary about inbred family for his book Created Equally (2004). And, sure, he did face threats from shotgun-wielding neighbors.
He returned to the Whitaker family in 2020 to film a video that had more dislikes than likes yet went viral with over 25 million views. The documentary illustrates the heinous consequences of inbreeding.
Lorraine, Ray, and Timmy are members who have an undiagnosed mental illness. They live in deplorable circumstances and rarely have enough to eat. Ray, in particular, merely growls. So, what’s the problem?
To get them to speak, Mark Laita had to pay them four visits and provide them with financial presents such as money, food, and clothing. He penned:
“The individuals in this video are brothers and sisters, except for Timmy, who is a cousin. There is no way I would be able to confirm that the Whitaker parents were related, but given that this does happen in this part of the country and the Whitakers are the most extreme case I’ve seen so far, I would bet that inbreeding was at least partly responsible for the mental and physical abnormalities seen in Lorraine, Freddie, Ray, and Timmy.
According to several studies, inbred kids have worse cognitive capacities, lung function issues, heart ailments, and are more susceptible to various diseases. Children that are inbred are more likely to have recessive genetic diseases.
So, what exactly is going on with the Whitaker family? Inbreeding is likely to be frequent in parts of West Virginia, and the manner in which they are protected by their neighbors might be a contributing factor. They demonstrate the serious implications of inbreeding.
Inbred Family The Whitakers Story
The Whitaker family is of British heritage and lives in deplorable circumstances. Ray, Lorraine, Timmy (only cousin), Freddie, and an unknown sister were among those there at first. Freddie, on the other hand, died of a heart attack a long time ago.
This narrative is similar to the Colt Clan incest case, in which Clan raped his daughters in order to have children. It was a “horror story” about four generations of incest. The two sisters, on the other hand, openly shared beds with their brother. Nonetheless, trustworthy sources reveal that the Whitaker family is inbred.
Mark Latia personally advised everyone to avoid the Whitaker family, who are being guarded by armed neighbors and Raleigh County deputies. He said, “I strongly discourage anyone attempting to look for the Whitakers as their armed neighbors and the Raleigh County deputies both make it clear that curious visitors are not welcome.”
No one knows where the Whitaker family comes from or who their parents are. These family members also never revealed anything about their parents. However, one thing is certain: they are inbred.
What Does it Mean to Be an Inbred Family?
Inbreeding is the mating of organisms that are genetically related. The behavior contradicts the biological goal of mating, which is to shuffle DNA. According to Consanguineous Marriages, a 2011 study, “the rate of near natal and childhood death increases if the child comes from a first cousin union, nearly doubling in certain countries.”
Several scientists and clinicians have demonstrated that inbreeding increases the chance of birth abnormalities and genetic illnesses in kids. To learn more about inbreeding, watch this video:
The Whitaker family is entirely inbred. All members of the family are biologically and genetically related to one another. That is the source of their cognitive impairments.
The state of West Virginia has a reputation for inbreeding.
West Virginian inbreeding habits have long been associated with the state’s poverty. National newspapers carried photographs of decrepit shacks and barefoot youngsters in rags in the 1930s, which left a lasting perception of the state as a backwater.
West Virginians were the archetypal “hillbillies,” and incest was offered as a crude “scientific” explanation for their impoverished socioeconomic status. Although West Virginia now has an anti-incest statute, first cousins may still marry in other parts of the state.

Let’s begin with an example. The British Royal family is well-known for keeping their secrets hidden. They’ve been doing it for a long time. I’m not sure whether this makes sense, but I suddenly remembered an episode of “The Crown.”
Katherine and Nerissa were the daughters of John Herbert Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother’s brother, and his wife, Fenella. They were both born with profound learning difficulties. It indicates they were Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousins.
In fact, their cousins Idonea, Etheldreda, and Rosemary were Fenella’s sister’s daughters, who all had comparable problems. The disease was thought to be inherited from a common maternal grandfather, Charles Trefusis.
These individuals were kept in the dark and died horribly. To safeguard its prestige and genetic abnormalities, the royal family never revealed them.
So, have you ever wondered why there isn’t much accessible about the Whitaker family? Why are they being guarded by deputies? Why are the Whitakers being left so badly?
In the video, the Whitaker family is British. Mark Laita also neglected to consider these individuals’ ages. They aren’t in their forties. Everyone is of legal drinking age. So, are they also related to a prominent family? We don’t know who, but it’s simply a thought.
Their parents are reported to have died a long time ago, so why don’t the surviving members divulge their identities? They simply sit around and do nothing. Fortunately, Mark has set up a GoFundMe page for them.
Inbreeding is a type of reproduction where the parents are closely related. This can happen naturally in the wild when a male and female from the same species mate or it can happen in captivity when an animal is not introduced to other potential mates. It turns out that inbreeding can also happen with humans, and it can have dramatic consequences.
I have a lot of questions regarding this dysfunctional family. What are your thoughts about the Whitaker family?
